- To assist facilities in NA to safeguard the health of their employees, contractors and tollers
- To assist facilities in NA to comply with legal and internal standards related to industrial hygiene
- To provide high level expertise in the field of industrial hygiene
- To raise awareness on industrial hygiene by interacting with all levels of the organization within the region
- To continuously develop and maintain the industrial hygiene competence in NA to such a level that NA can deliver on its SHE and Security values, policies and improvement targets.
- To cooperate in setting the strategic direction for industrial hygiene for whole company by actively participating to the industrial hygiene tier I network.

- Supports/facilitates the timely and effective implementation of industrial hygiene standards.
- Supports in achieving the company targets.
- Provides support, leadership and expertise to the Regional SHE&S team.
- Defines knowledge gaps and develops competences.
- Leads the regional Industrial Hygiene network.
- Is an active member of the Industrial Hygiene Tier I network. Cooperates to the creation of global standards, processes and tools in industrial hygiene.
- Connects with external service providers.
- Support the investigation and follow up of health incidents
- Create, foster and maintain an environment of cross-regional collaboration, synergies seek, best practices-/knowledge sharing and learning to achieve an incident-free working environment.
- Monitor progresses and performance in industrial hygiene within the region
Authorities:
- Lead and represent industrial hygiene in the NA and leads working groups for specific recurring topics
- Improve awareness and competence of industrial hygiene by practical support and coaching
- Provide (un)solicited advise to units and senior management to address industrial hygiene issues
- Stop any unsafe behavior or activities.
- Escalate local industrial hygiene issues that needs to be addressed at BU or global level.
Complexity of the position
- Due to the huge differences in operations, cultures, sizes and capabilities, it will be complex and sometime impossible to maintain fit- for-all solutions.
- The position requires to be recognized by stakeholders as an expert in the field of industrial hygiene. It requires a deep understanding of processes and health hazards involved.

Knowledge:
- Knowledge of and experience in own discipline
- In-depth knowledge of industrial hygiene legal requirement and international best practices
- At least ~ 5 years of practical experience in industrial hygiene in the chemical or pharmaceutical industry
- Managerial and social skills
- good communication and social skills
- English mother language or fluency. Knowledge of one or more of the official languages is a plus.

- Good knowledge of local IH/OH laws and regulations.
Educational level
- University degree technical, engineering, SHE and Security.
- Certified industrial hygienist
